Cup and cover

wood (maple-wood?), silver-gilt; carved

Inscription/Mark: figures apparently '1224' (punched in the underside of the foot)

Standing cup, the wooden body of gourd shape. The tall foot spreading finial and curling handle are of silver-gilt. At the top is a, probably later, roundel engraved with a grotesque mask.
