Maker's mark: 'HM' conjoined for Mittnacht (struck on the base and on the edge of the lid near the handle (2))

Tankard, glass, swelling cylindrical form, engraved with scrollwork and an image of St Francis Xavier ('S.Fran.Xave.'). Silver-gilt mounts, thumbpiece and upper part of handle, the finial of the hinged lid formed as a flower. The upper edge of the glass is painted gold.
