The arms are of an eagle displayed sable quartering argent a biscione azure. On the reverse a blue-bordered collection label partly torn, apparently reading Bellisaire et/ [c]heval. Urbino. Formerly sold Hotel Drouot, Paris (Blaussaint-Lefevre), 8 April 2011, lot 86; bt by Alain Moatti, Paris from whom acquired by the donors for presentation to the Ashmolean, 2012. Made for Francesco Sforza II, Duke of Milan (1495-1535).
