Maiolica Collection
Italian, Spanish and Mexican maiolica and other pottery on display in the Museum galleries in 2012 are included on these webpages, which are currently (2013) under revision.
Thanks to the scholarly collecting of C.D.E. Fortnum (1820-1899), the Ashmolean possesses an Italian maiolica collection of international importance. The Fortnum Collection is supplemented by subsequent gifts and purchases and enriched by a group of appropriate loans from an English private collection. The greater part of the collection is on display in the galleries and included on these pages.
