Writing [3]
Trainee scribes wrote in very large script, just like
school children do today. But professional scribes could make their writing
very tiny indeed. This little tablet just 2 cm square, with almost invisibly small
writing on, is a dinner ticket for travelling messengers. It lists the bread,
meat, onions, and beer to be given to them every day on their official journey
in the south of Iraq in about 2050 BC.
