AN ANGLO-SAXON BURIAL FROM DUCKLINGTON

In 1860 gravel diggers discovered a burial containing a skeleton but no grave-goods. Nearby a further skeleton, that of a child, was uncovered, with a gold pendant and other precious items in the grave.

The finds from this burial suggest it dates to the seventh century and are now held in the Ashmolean Museum.
