THE WORK OF E.T. LEEDS:
SITE CASE STUDIES

Abingdon Neolithic Causewayed Camp

E.T. Leeds excavated a Neolithic causewayed camp at Abingdon in 1926 and 1927. The site was further excavated by Humphrey Case in 1954 who found flint, pottery and charcoal on the site. In 1963 and 1964 D.M. Avery continued to excavate the site.

All three excavations yielded large amounts of Neolithic pottery together with flint implements, stone axes, flint arrowheads and bone and antler tools.
