Country Life [5]
These two cylinder seals were carved in about 2300 BC. One shows a an ox pulling a seeder plough, which dropped seed through a funnel into the furrow. This device allowed the farmer to control the distribution of seed very accurately. On the left of the other cylinder seal impression is a small flock of long-haired sheep. Above them two people are churning butter. Both sheep and butter may have been offerings to the god shown seated on the right.
